Abstract
Objective: To describe the clinical profile of babies treated by the Physiotherapy service in a monitoring outpatient clinic, according to maternal, obstetric and neonatal aspects. Methods: cross-sectional study, based on the analysis of medical records of 502 at-risk babies. A chi-square test was applied to verify associations between variables. Results: There was an association between the variable gestational age and birth weight; days of hospital stay; fewer prenatal consultations; Apgar < 7 in the 5th minute (p < 0.05). Regarding the birth weight variable, there was an association between extreme low birth weight and male sex and Apgar < 7 in the 5th minute; and adequate weight for the highest number of prenatal consultations (p < 0.05). There was also an association between maternal age and number of prenatal consultations (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The profile of the newborn cared for is determined mainly by their gestational age, birth weight and length of stay.
